I still haven't secured a definate solution yet for a new doctor to prescribe the hormones for me. I did however locate a clinic at the University of Minnesota that specializes with transgender patients. From the information I was able to obtain from their web site it appears the transgender program they offer is pretty extensive. My only drawback getting into there is the 200 mile drive each way. I'll keep them in mind though in case something else doesn't come up.
I've heard so many transgendered people ask me why the hormones don't appear to be working too well. All I can say to them is that undergoing hrt requires a magnitude of patience. It is basically like going backwards in time to your childhood and then preparing for puberty all over again. If you've ever watched a young girl coming into puberty you know that nothing happened overnight. It took them years to fully develop their secondary characteristics such as breast developement, feminine curvature in their hips and buttocks, ect.. Knowing this, how can one possibly expect these changes in a body flooded with testosterone, to happen in a short time period? Anyone who does expect this is, I'm sorry to say, in for a very rude awakening.
Throughout the long hours I've spent doing research, I numerously came up with the same information stating that in a male to female transsexual, it takes an average of around 2 years for the breasts to fully develope to their maximum potential. You have to take into consideration though that since everyone's body behaves differently during hrt, there may be some who develope quicker than others and some who develope slower than others. I have also heard from other trans girls that they have experienced above average results strictly through hrt. I'm by no means saying these are fabrications in their minds as I have no positive proof either way. Personally, I find these results hard to believe since all of the clinical results I've read show that most trans girls develope an average of one cup size smaller than a genetic female in their biological family. As an example... Your mother or sister is a natural C cup you can possibly expect to reach a B cup. I believe that to be the reasoning behind so many trans girls seeking augmentation at some point during transition. Even I am not ruling that option out but that will be a lot further down the road.
